20 x 6-7cm Vintage Suffolk Puffs Yo-Yos 1920s 1930s Fabrics Mid-Century Rescued *11047

Item: 20 x 6-7cm Suffolk puffs / yo-yos rescued from a vintage quilt. Please read about the quilt and puffs below.   
Fibre: Most puffs are cotton, the occasional one is rayon. 
Condition: The puffs range from ok to fabulous - it seems to depend on the original condition of the fabric before being stitched. Some small holes on the side where the quilt has come apart, most have thread still attached where this has occurred.

I am putting up 30+ sets of antique or vintage suffolk puffs that we've rescued from an old quilt. Each set has 20 puffs - the puffs are around 7cm wide. The quilt looked to have been created in the early 60s, but most of the fabrics are from the 1930s to the 1950s. The quilt was lovingly hand sewn and the fabrics look to have been chosen specifically for the quilt - some puffs are sewn bits of fabric. Most of the fabrics are cottons - plainly woven, printed, seersucker, the occasional feedsack. Every now and then there's a satin brocade.

We haven't washed the quilt or puffs as I know a lot of people like their textiles to show original age. We've kept the 20 puffs as a single pieces when we could - ie. all puffs are still joined - but some sets have separate puffs. Some have splits of the sides, others are very dusty - I am sure you get the drift. If you want new puffs that look perfect these are not for you - but if you want antique textiles and fabrics from the 40s-50s that have a story to tell, then you may be interested in these.
